Loneliness is Killing Me

Healing Humanity is more than giving and receiving material and financial abundance.
Loneliness is a demon of many illnesses and diseases. Being a gen Xer, I have never
seen so many people talking about loneliness both on and offline. It’s like a pandemic.
Being raised in the 80s I recall the days of phones on walls, before answering
machines. We spent most of our time outside with neighbors and had to run in the
house if you heard the phone ring. If you missed the call, you simply missed the call, no
worries, no frustrations, no pondering who it was and what they wanted. On the flip side
if you were in the house and were able to answer the phone, you did so with kindness,
curiosity and excitement. Who could be looking for me? The phone also didn’t ring
constantly, maybe a call or two a day. Then came the answering machine and the
excitement was getting home to see if the light was blinking with a message. The only
people that left messages back in the day were family and friends, no bill collectors,
scammers, telemarketers.

Since the implementation of the internet I have been witness to an increase in
depression, anger, and isolation. It used to be a saying that you were “trying to keep up
with the Johnsons” down the road. Meaning if they got a new car, you wanted one also
to prove your status. These days people are exhausted trying to keep up with the world
and its all a lie. None if it is true. People post images of trips, cars and romance that
doesn’t even exist. Most people are financially broken trying to represent something that
isn’t real. I see post after post of people complaining about the cost of coffee and fast
food, while they are consuming it. The lie we have been told through media is that we
MUST maintain social status by consuming more and more, and when you cant afford
the consumption, we no longer fit into society. None of this is true, it’s a concoction of
poison we are told to take, so we continue to put all of our energy into taking it. We have
been divided and divided and divided, pretty soon there will be nothing left to divide.
Opinions and positions that are founded on insecurities and madness while others
prosper from our divisions.

When I was a youngster we were divided by color of skin. Now adays its color, politics,
religion, financial status, vegan vs meat eater, meds vs no meds, vaccinations vs none,
country vs country, region vs region, neighbor vs neighbor, church against church,
school against school, media consumer vs non media consumer, the woke vs non
woke, the enlightened vs the not so, the “chosen vs not chosen”, we even divide
ourselves based on if the world is round or flat! Its complete madness, a pill of chaos we
have all have pushed down our throats everyday by our media and governments. This
division has created great division where there used to be little. We are so divided we
have taken in disease and illness labeled “LONLINESS”. I am familiar with the disease

myself. At times being alone is peaceful and rewarding. There can be extreme healing
in being alone. But there is a difference between being alone and being lonely. I have
been in a room full of people and often felt lonely.

This site can be a unifier of people feeling lonely. A simple post saying “I bought into the
maddens too deep and need a kind person in my life”. I believe we have come almost
full circle and to the point we have so divided, many wish they could turn back the clock
and not join groups of hate and division with false beliefs, creating false identities. We
want to have real friends to rely on and to be relied on.
Peace.
Santiago.
